20ft DNV Offshore Lifting Beam Container Case Study
We recently received an enquiry from a nationwide buying company. They required a custom built 20ft long x 8ft wide x 8ft 6" high, new offshore container built to DNV 2.7-1 standard (LLoyds approved), for their customer in Aberdeen.
The container had the following bespoke work carried out:
Zone II rated electrics were supplied and installed to the following specification:
- Supplied fully slung, tested and certified for offshore use with full "as built" document package.
- Repainted blue RAL5010 with four corner castings to bottom only, and four pad-eyes to top corners.
- Two 4ft side access doors were installed to one 20ft panel, with no requirement for cargo doors on either of the 8ft ends.
- A lifting beam was manufactured and installed to the centre of the unit, with a 250kg capacity complete with manual chain block.
- Two sets of 3 tier, 2 bay, 2000mm x 550mm x full container hight shelving bays were manufactured and installed. This included 50mm box section legs and centres.
- Mesh caged doors were manufactured and installed to the front of the shelving.
Zone II rated electrics were supplied and installed to the following specification:
- One external connection, plug and play style.
- Two 4ft twin tube fluorescent light fittings, with dual voltage (110V - 220V).
- One double pole light switch.
- One isolated junction box.
- All cables and glands to suit including housing and conduit.
- Full EX protection type and EX certificates.
